Police arrest man in Stockton on suspicion of attempted rape, assault and false imprisonment

Stockton: A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and assault. Police were called to a street after concerns for a woman were raised.

Officers arrived at a property on Norton Road around 6 PM. They set up a roadblock and began their investigation. A woman was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police confirmed they received the call at about 5:30 PM. A 61-year-old local man was arrested and is in custody for questioning. Officers will remain in the area to reassure the community.

The North East Ambulance Service reported they were called shortly before 5:30 PM. They dispatched an ambulance to the scene, and the injured woman was taken to the hospital.
