PM Concludes Three-State Tour with Important Election Message
The Prime Minister’s tour focused on key issues ahead of the upcoming federal election

Perth: So, the Prime Minister just wrapped up a whirlwind tour across three states. He hit up Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia, all in a bid to rally support before the federal election, which is coming up by May 17.
Starting off in Queensland, he made a big promise of $7.2 billion to fix the dangerous Bruce Highway. It’s a hot topic, and even the Opposition Leader, Peter Dutton, jumped on that bandwagon.
Albanese is really pushing the idea that his government is all about tackling those pesky cost-of-living issues while also looking to build a brighter future for Australia.
He said, “I want a country that continues to grow and is optimistic about the future.” Sounds good, right? He also mentioned that addressing climate change doesn’t have to hurt the economy.
He believes that taking action on climate change can actually create new jobs and industries. He’s convinced that Australia is in a prime spot to benefit from the minerals that will be in demand in the future.
But, of course, the cost of living is a huge deal right now. With inflation and interest rates being so high, it’s definitely going to be a major talking point in this election.
On the flip side, the Opposition is not holding back. They’ve been calling Albanese “economically illiterate” and blaming Labor for the rising costs. They’re saying Australians can’t afford to keep dealing with what they call an incompetent government.
