Plymouth: A local veteran’s club is hosting a comedy night. This event will help raise funds for PL1 Civvy Street. The charity supports veterans transitioning to civilian life. They provide resources for work and housing, creating a space for veterans to connect.
The comedy night is on Saturday, February 15, at Plymouth Argyle’s The View. Doors open at 7 PM, and food will be served at 7:30 PM. Everyone will enjoy a burger meal before the show starts.
Three local comedians will perform: Pat Smith, David Arnold, and Christian Russell-Pollock. Pat joined the military at 19 and now works in finance and comedy. He recently won Jim Davidson’s “laughter class” and supported him on tour.
David Arnold has won several competitions, including “So You Think You’re Funny.” He has performed with Bobby Davro and Jimmy Cricket. He also has a lead role in a show at Babbacombe Theatre in Devon.
Christian Russell-Pollock is recognized as a “stand out stand up.” He won the Ha-Hart Comedy Awards in 2019 and supported Britain’s Got Talent Winner Lost Voice Guy on tour.
Besides the comedy, there will be a raffle and a silent auction. A spokesperson for PL1 Civvy Street expressed excitement about the event, following a successful gala in September.
Tickets are £27.80 on Eventbrite or £25 if purchased directly from the club. You can find them on Facebook and Indeed.
