Colsterworth: Plans to build five new homes were turned down by the council. Hereward Homes wanted to build on land off Bourne Road.

The proposal included two bungalows with three to four bedrooms, one four-bedroom home, and two five-bedroom homes. They also planned parking and to remove one tree and some hedgerow.

However, South Kesteven District Council found the plans too cramped. They felt the bungalows would take up too much space and not fit in with the larger homes nearby.

The council also mentioned that the development would negatively impact the public path and surrounding greenery. They acknowledged the potential benefits of the homes but said these did not outweigh the harm.

Concerns about the bungalows being overbearing and overshadowing were also raised. The council’s decision reflects their commitment to maintaining the area’s character.
