Llanelli: Exciting news for the area! A new five-storey hotel with 120 beds could be on the way if the plans get the green light. It’s set to be built in the Machynys area, right by the coast, overlooking the beautiful Burry Inlet and the Millennium Coastal Path.
The folks behind this project are aiming to create a top-notch destination for visitors. They believe it’ll really help the local tourism scene and boost the economy in a sustainable way. Sounds like a win-win for Llanelli!
Ove Arup and Partners Ltd have put in the planning application to Carmarthenshire Council. If approved, the hotel will be located east of Pentre Nicklaus Avenue, away from residential areas. The site is currently just empty green space, but it used to be part of the old Machynys brickworks.
This hotel will be quite the sight, measuring up to 60 meters wide and 80 meters long, with a height of 20 meters. Plus, they’re planning to add a large car park with 140 spaces, including spots for disabled and electric vehicles. That’s pretty handy!
The developers are really focused on making this a sustainable project that supports local tourism and business. They’ve even backed their application with a bunch of technical reports to show they’ve thought everything through.
The vision is to create a hotel that not only provides a great experience for guests but also connects well with the surrounding area. They want to make sure it enhances the natural landscape and ties in with the nearby Pentre Awel development.
So, keep your fingers crossed that this project gets the go-ahead! It could really change the game for Llanelli and its tourism.
