Sale: Trafford council is shaking things up with new plans for 84 homes where the old magistrates’ court used to be. They’re adding 21 affordable homes on this 2.5-acre spot near Ashton Lane and Washway Road. The updated plans are now live on the council’s planning portal.

These homes will have some cool features, like extra ground-floor living space and solar panels on both the front and back. This should help keep energy bills down for the folks living there, thanks to renewable energy.

Plus, there’s going to be a new public area and some fresh trees planted around. Coun Liz Patel, who’s in charge of economy and regeneration at Trafford council, mentioned that this project is a big deal. It’s all about building more homes on brownfield sites, with a solid chunk being affordable.

She also pointed out that the focus is on creating energy-efficient homes, especially since there’s a huge demand for housing right now. The shortage is a real issue, and they’re doing their best to get more affordable options out there.

Local developer PIC Homes is on board for this project. They recently wrapped up a phase of The Saplings development in Timperley and are teaming up with experienced contractors from Trafford.

A spokesperson from PIC Homes shared their excitement about the project. They’ve got a personal connection to Sale, having lived there for 15 years and attended Ashton-on-Mersey School. It’s a special opportunity for them to give back to the community.
