Rochdale: Exciting news is brewing about a new wind farm! Plans for Scout Moor II, which would be the largest onshore wind farm in England, are moving forward.

This project is set to be built near the existing Scout Moor wind farm and could generate a whopping 100 MW of power. That’s enough to light up over 100,000 homes!

Cubico Sustainable Investments is behind this initiative. They’re reaching out to Rochdale council to get their thoughts on the environmental impact before they dive into the full planning process.

If all goes well, they hope to have it up and running before 2030. Plus, it could bring in around £200 million in investment and create a bunch of green jobs.

David Swindin, the CEO of Cubico, is pretty optimistic. He believes this project shows the UK’s potential to lead in renewable energy. He’s excited about the government’s push to ramp up renewable energy infrastructure.

Cubico is already making waves in the UK with over 250 MW of wind and solar projects. They’re planning to invest around £300 million in new green technologies soon, aiming to solidify their role in the renewable energy scene.
