Cricklade: Newland Homes submitted a plan in March 2022. They wanted to build 140 homes at Stones Farm on West Mill Lane.
Two years later, Wiltshire Council rejected the plan. They received 49 letters of objection from residents.
People were worried about losing farmland and too much development. Cricklade Town Council also objected, citing access and infrastructure issues.
Now, the planning inspectorate has approved the appeal. Newland Homes can move forward with their plans.
A spokesperson said they were disappointed but would work with the developer. They want to ensure the development benefits both new and current residents.
