Melbourne: So, there was this wild scene at Melbourne Airport. A plane carrying nearly 300 people had its wheels explode right on the runway. Talk about a dramatic start to a trip!

The flight was headed to Abu Dhabi, and passengers had to be taken off the plane and moved to the terminal. Apparently, the brakes were slammed on because of a technical issue. Yikes!

Firetrucks showed up, and it was all hands on deck around 6:15 PM. Two tires went boom, and the airport staff confirmed that the flight had to reject takeoff.

According to a spokesperson, the fire service was called in just to be safe, and they even used foam as a precaution. Safety first, right?

They mentioned that the plane couldn’t be towed off the runway due to the damage to its tires. But no worries, all passengers got off safely and were bussed to the terminal.

After this incident, the airport had to manage with just one runway for all flights. It caused some delays, but they were still able to keep things moving by Monday morning.

While there weren’t any cancellations, some flights had to leave with less fuel, which means they’ll need to refuel on the way. A bit of a hassle, but at least everyone is safe!

Etihad Airways later tweeted that the takeoff was aborted for technical reasons, emphasizing that the safety and comfort of their passengers is their top priority. Good to know they’re looking out for everyone!
