Kennington: There’s some buzz about turning an old loo into a flower shop. These toilets, once used by Charlie Chaplin, closed back in 1988.

The local council is meeting soon to discuss the proposal. They plan to keep the urinals but will remove the wash basins. The idea is to clean and refurbish the space while keeping its charm.

The toilets were built in 1900 and have a unique design. They even got a Grade-II listing in 2001. Before this, they were used as an art gallery for a few years.

Last year, there were plans for a cocktail bar in the same spot, but that didn’t happen. Now, the flower stall idea seems to be the right fit for the area.

The council thinks this new venture will benefit the community. It’s all about bringing something stylish and attractive to Kennington. Fingers crossed for a green light soon!
