Pitsea: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening. Roman Casselden, 16, and his sister Darcie, nine, were hit by a car that didn’t stop.

Despite efforts from emergency services and locals, both siblings died at the scene. It’s heartbreaking for everyone involved.

Police arrested a man and a woman in their 20s. They are suspected of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.

The woman has been released on bail, while the man is under investigation. The siblings were riding a privately owned e-scooter.

The community is mourning. Floral tributes have been left at the scene to honor Roman and Darcie.

A Go Fund Me was set up with the family’s permission. It quickly surpassed its £20,000 goal, raising over £29,000 to support their loved ones.

The fundraiser update thanked everyone for their incredible support. The family is grateful for the community’s kindness during this tragic time.

Chief Superintendent Leighton Hammett stated the investigation is progressing. He urged the public not to speculate about the incident.
