Detroit: So, Jaden Ivey, the Pistons guard, was having a great season until a nasty injury put everything on pause. He had surgery on his broken fibula after a tough collision with Cole Anthony from the Magic.
This all went down during the first quarter of Wednesday’s game. It was pretty intense. Ivey went down, and players from both teams rushed over to help. They had to stretcher him off the court, which was a real bummer.
When they replayed the moment, it was clear his ankle was bent in a way that just shouldn’t happen. It was heartbreaking to see, especially with Anthony visibly upset on the sidelines. The crowd was supportive, cheering for Ivey as he was wheeled away.
Coach J.B. Bickerstaff shared how tough it was for the team to see Ivey hurt. He believes Ivey will bounce back stronger than ever. It’s a tough break, especially since Ivey was really stepping up this season.
Before the injury, he was averaging career highs in points, rebounds, and shooting percentages. The Pistons were doing better too, matching last year’s win total already. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for Ivey!
