Washington: So, you know how we were chatting about the NFL rookies? Well, Jayden Daniels just snagged the title of Offensive Rookie of the Year for 2024. Pretty cool, right?
During the Scouting Combine, we asked defensive players who the toughest guy they faced was. Guess what? They all said Jayden Daniels from LSU. That says a lot!
In his first year with the Commanders, he really showed everyone what he’s made of. He’s not just a great passer; he’s quick on his feet, too. You blink, and he’s gone!
For the second year in a row, the second overall draft pick is taking home this honor. Daniels is already climbing the ranks, sitting just outside the top 10 quarterbacks in the league.
He finished with a passer rating over 100, which is impressive. Plus, he threw 25 touchdown passes and only had nine interceptions. His completion rate was a solid 69.0, putting him sixth among all quarterbacks.
And get this: he led the Commanders to the playoffs in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. He even set a record for rookie quarterbacks with 891 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns!
As we gear up for a new president, it looks like Daniels is already the king of D.C. And honestly, I can’t see him slowing down anytime soon.
Coming in second was Brock Bowers from the Raiders. He broke the rookie reception record with 112 catches and also set a new record for rookie tight ends with 1,194 receiving yards. Not too shabby!
Then there’s Bo Nix from the Broncos, who smashed the franchise record for rookie wins. He led the team to the playoffs for the first time since Peyton Manning’s glory days.
Other notable mentions include Brian Thomas, Jr. from the Jaguars and Malik Nabers from the Giants. Both had fantastic seasons, even without top-tier quarterbacks throwing to them.
These guys have bright futures ahead. For Daniels and Nix, there’s still a chance to shine in the upcoming postseason!
