Bromsgrove: MP Bradley Thomas has started a petition. This follows the news that Lloyds’ Bromsgrove branch will close on May 7. Halifax’s branch will close shortly after, on May 29.

With these closures, Bromsgrove High Street has lost four bank branches in three years. Barclays closed in 2022, and Natwest followed in 2023.

Mr. Thomas wants a permanent Banking Hub in Bromsgrove. This hub would help residents access face-to-face banking and cash withdrawal services.

A Banking Hub would combine Post Office cash services and Community Bankers in one location. This way, people can still bank in person and access cash services.

To support his campaign, Mr. Thomas urges residents to sign his petition. He believes this will show the need for a Bromsgrove Banking Hub.

He stated, “With the closures of Lloyds and Halifax, our High Street has lost four banks in just three years. If we’re not careful, Bromsgrove could become a banking desert.”

He added, “The Post Office and Cash Access are planning to open more Banking Hubs. I’ll make a strong case for one in Bromsgrove.”

“But I need your support to make this happen. Please sign my petition to show decision-makers that Bromsgrove wants a Banking Hub.”
