Malmesbury: Persimmon Homes is planning to build 21 homes. These will be located on the northern edge of the town, near the cemetery.

Wiltshire Council received 45 comments against the plans. Malmesbury Town Council is among the objectors.

Concerns include potential overdevelopment and lack of infrastructure in the area. However, the developers believe this project will meet local housing needs.

The plans include new amenity spaces for both current and future residents. They aim to improve connections to the town and surrounding countryside.

Developers also plan to create a 10-meter ecological buffer. This will help wildlife navigate the site, although no notable species were found during surveys.

The project will provide new access to Malmesbury Tennis Club, supporting its growth. The case officer report supports the development, citing its alignment with local plans.

Construction could start within a year, continuing from the nearby Backbridge Farm. Access will be via a new road connecting to the B4014.
