Hounslow: Citizens Advice Hounslow just got a big funding boost of £1.625 million. This comes as more people are reaching out for help with their finances.

The council approved this funding to help folks with issues like housing, benefits, and employment. It’s a five-year deal, giving them £325,000 each year.

They’ve been around for over 20 years, and this extension means they can keep helping people until 2030. The extra cash will help them manage staff better and prevent homelessness.

They have two offices in the area, one in Feltham and another in Chiswick. Plus, they’re rolling out mobile units and a phone line to reach more people.

Darlene, an adviser there, shared that many are struggling to afford basic needs. She recently helped a single mom who was worried about rising rent and energy costs.

This mom was working full-time but still found it hard to make ends meet. Darlene helped her check for benefits and even got her a foodbank voucher.

Cllr Grewal emphasized how crucial this service is for the community. They’ve helped residents secure over £15 million in support last year alone.

Citizens Advice Hounslow has been a lifeline for over 15,000 residents each year, tackling issues from debt to family matters.

Aiman, the CEO, mentioned that this funding is vital during these tough times. Many rely on them to avoid financial instability and homelessness.
