Pensioner left ‘stark naked’ after drinking from ‘spiked’ Thai booze bucket on holiday

Swansea: So, there’s this wild story about a woman named Janet West. She’s 61 and from Wales. Back in 2019, she had a crazy experience in Thailand that she’s now sharing to warn others.

Janet was celebrating Thai New Year on Khaosan Road when she thought she was just enjoying a whisky and coke. But then, she blacked out and woke up completely naked in her hotel room! Can you imagine?

She found out from the hotel staff that she had been wandering around without any clothes for hours. Yikes! Apparently, she drank from one of those infamous booze buckets, which might have been spiked with something dangerous.

Now, she’s really concerned about the local spirits. Janet said, “I was lucky to survive and to have no side effects, but I’m frightened to drink the local spirits in Thailand now.” She’s warning everyone to stick to imported drinks or bottled beer instead.

She also heard some scary stories from other tourists about people getting seriously hurt or even dying after drinking from those buckets. It’s a real party culture there, and sometimes people just pour shots down your throat without a second thought.

Janet’s been traveling since 2022 and fell in love with Thailand’s food and beaches back in 2016. But after her nightmare trip in 2019, she’s been extra cautious. She even joked about thinking she was a pregnant teen needing a ride to the hospital when she was actually just confused and wandering around.
