Pembrokeshire: Big news in the meat industry! José Peralta, who was the COO at Puffin Produce, is now the new CEO of Hybu Cig Cymru, also known as Meat Promotion Wales.

He’s got a solid background, with over 25 years in the UK meat scene. Before this, he was managing director at one of the largest red meat companies in the UK. That’s pretty impressive!

During his time there, he helped the company rake in over £500 million in sales and managed a workforce of more than 3,000 people across six processing plants. Talk about experience!

José also led Tulip Food Company, where he oversaw eight processing sites and similar sales figures. So, he really knows his stuff when it comes to the meat industry.

Catherine Smith, the chairperson of HCC, expressed excitement about working with José. She believes his leadership skills and industry experience make him the perfect fit for the role.

Even Huw Irranca-Davies, the deputy first minister, is on board, saying José’s track record will be crucial for moving the organization forward.

José is set to officially start his new role on January 20, 2025. It’ll be interesting to see how he shapes the future of HCC!
