Pedestrian ‘seriously injured’ in Birmingham after being hit by car

Birmingham: A woman was hit by a car on Alwold Road in Weoley Castle. It happened just before 9:30 AM on Thursday. The road was closed off after the accident.

Ambulance crews arrived quickly. They found the woman with serious injuries and provided trauma care right there. She was then rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.

The road was partially blocked in both directions. National Express West Midlands had to divert its number 76 bus service to avoid the area. Thankfully, the incident was cleared up by 1 PM, and buses were back to normal.
