Boston: So, Payton Pritchard just hit a big milestone—his 500th career 3-pointer! Can you believe it? He’s now one of only ten Celtics to reach that mark.
In a recent game against the Detroit Pistons, he led the Celtics with 27 points, shooting 7-of-15 from beyond the arc. That’s some serious shooting! Plus, he made history by being the first player in Celtics history to score at least 25 points, dish out 10 assists, and hit five 3-pointers while coming off the bench.
When you look at the names he’s joining, it’s pretty impressive. He’s on track to pass Avery Bradley soon, who had 520 3-pointers in his Celtics career. And keep in mind, Pritchard has done this in just 291 games!
He’s also in good company with legends like Al Horford and Larry Bird ahead of him. It’s clear he’s making a name for himself in the league.
Right now, he’s a strong contender for the Sixth Man of the Year award, averaging 16.1 points and shooting nearly 49% from the field. After the game, he mentioned that winning the award would be nice, but it’s not his main focus. He just wants to keep helping his team.
Next up, he’ll be looking to keep that momentum going when the Celtics face the Washington Wizards this Sunday. Can’t wait to see how he performs!
