Passengers Impressed by Arran’s Brand New Ferry Experience
The new ferry on Arran has left passengers thrilled with its modern features and services

Brodick: This morning, Sheila Gilmour, the chief executive of VisitArran, hopped on the ferry for its return trip to Troon. She was buzzing about the new vessel.
She mentioned how exciting this moment is for Scottish maritime history, especially for Arran. It’s a big deal!
Passenger Stevie was on board, reading Moby Dick with his pet Lall by his side. He felt the new ferry would really improve the service, but he joked that the real test would be later.
Sheila also shared her excitement about the MV Caledonian Isles returning to sail between Ardrossan and Brodick. Plus, she’s looking forward to the Glen Sannox finally making its debut from Ardrossan.
Onboard, the dining area was bustling with folks enjoying bacon rolls and coffee. It seemed like everyone was in high spirits.
Lamont McGillivray, a crew member, was busy serving customers. He had spent a decade on the MV Caledonian Isles but was thrilled to join the Glen Sannox crew.
He said working on this modern boat is going to be a real treat. It’s a fresh start for him!
