Newham: Baby Elsa was found in a shopping bag on January 18, 2024. A dog walker discovered her wrapped in a towel near Greenway and High Street. Thankfully, she was unharmed but taken to the hospital just to be safe.

Now, a year later, the Metropolitan Police are still on the hunt for her parents. They’re really worried about their well-being. Detective Inspector Jamie Humm mentioned that they’ve been working hard to find them, reviewing tons of CCTV footage and even doing DNA tests.

They believe the parents might have been living in the Plaistow or East Ham areas for the last six years. The police are asking the community for help, hoping someone might have seen or heard something about the mother’s pregnancies.

Meanwhile, independent charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for any tips that come in anonymously. It’s a big deal, and they really want to get to the bottom of this.

Detective Humm is urging anyone with even the smallest piece of information to reach out. He reassured that the three babies involved in this case are all healthy and well, which is a relief.

If you know anything, you can call the police or contact Crimestoppers anonymously. Every little bit helps, and they’re hoping to find Elsa’s parents soon.
