Melbourne: So, there was this wild incident on Christmas morning. An alleged arsonist tried to set a fast-food place on fire and ended up with their pants on fire instead.
It all went down around 2:40 AM at a shopping strip on Doncaster Road. The police said two people rolled up in a Toyota Tarago, splashed some flammable liquid on the store, and tried to ignite it.
But guess what? The liquid caught fire, and one of them ended up with their clothes ablaze. They had to strip off their burning pants while running back to the car with their accomplice, who was holding a jerry can.
CCTV footage shows the whole thing. One of the suspects walks toward the door, then suddenly jumps back into view, pants on fire! They both take off running, and one of them is still trying to get rid of the flaming pants.
Eventually, they stop, and the person struggles to pull off the burning garment, all while trying to keep moving. The Tarago, driven by a third person, sped off east on Doncaster Road.
Now, detectives are hoping someone can help them out. They released the CCTV footage, looking for anyone who might know these two suspects.
