Charlotte: So, the Panthers are adding Trenton Irwin to their practice squad. Pretty cool, right? He’s expected to move up to the 53-man roster soon.
Ian Rapoport from NFL Media broke the news. Irwin played for the Bengals earlier this season but got cut last week. He had a few catches but didn’t really shine.
What’s interesting is that Panthers’ offensive coordinator Brad Idzik knows Irwin from their time at Stanford. It’s always nice to see familiar faces in the league.
In his time with the Bengals, Irwin had 46 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns. He also returned some punts, showing he can do a bit of everything.
