Accrington: Pakistan on a Plate just opened on January 15. Suleman Farrukh owns the restaurant. Events and Balloons by HQ decorated the place for the grand opening.
Suleman was a chef in Pakistan for 12 years. He moved to Lancashire with a dream to open his own restaurant. He wants to share his cooking skills with the community.
He said, “This is my first business. I want to bring the flavor of Pakistan to Accrington. I aim to serve traditional, homemade Pakistani food.”
On the menu, you’ll find traditional dishes like parathas, chicken and lamb curries, and biryanis. Suleman focuses on quality and freshness.
“It’s all about Pakistani cuisine and traditional food only,” he explained. Daily specials keep the menu exciting, like lamb leg and a chicken dish with paprika.
Suleman believes his restaurant is a unique addition to the area. “No one else is selling fresh Pakistani curries made daily,” he noted.
He’s been busy since opening and looks forward to welcoming more customers. “I’m excited for everyone to try our food,” he said.
Pakistan on a Plate offers delivery and has seating for 20 people. Suleman appreciates the support from the local community.
“The people here are really nice. The response has been great,” he shared. He even offers a satisfaction guarantee: if you don’t like your curry, he’ll replace it for free.
Though it’s only been a few weeks, the restaurant has received five-star reviews. One customer said, “Very nice food. A much-needed spot for Accrington.”
