Irlam: This morning, an 11-year-old girl had a close call while walking to school. A man and a woman tried to grab her, but thankfully, she managed to escape.

The incident happened around 8:30 AM on Silver Street, near the Cutnook Lane junction. Witnesses saw the suspects come out of a van and a car that had been driving around the area. The brave girl quickly ran to an adult to report what happened.

Now, the police are on the case. They’ve got a description of the suspects: a man about 5’9″ with dark hair and a clean-shaven face, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie, and a woman in leggings and a black hoodie.

They’re also looking for a black four-door car and a small white van with a sliding door that were seen nearby. To keep everyone calm, extra officers are patrolling the area, and they’re asking locals to share any video footage that might help.

Detective Inspector Justin Bryant from Greater Manchester Police reassured the community, saying they’re doing everything they can to investigate this worrying incident. He urged anyone with information to come forward, as it could really help their efforts. They’re also making sure the girl and her family are supported during this tough time.
