Green Bay: So, Jaire Alexander, the cornerback for the Packers, just had surgery on his right knee. He’s going to be out for the rest of the season, which is a bummer for the team. Coach Matt LaFleur broke the news on Wednesday.
He had the surgery to help with pain and swelling. The hope is that if the Packers make it to the Super Bowl, he might be able to come back. But right now, it’s looking like he’s done for the year.
Alexander has been struggling with a torn PCL since Week 8. He played a few games but couldn’t really get back to his old self. He only managed to play 10 snaps against the Bears after trying to come back.
In the games he did play, he racked up 16 tackles and snagged two interceptions. He’s got two years left on his big contract, but with all these injuries, the Packers might think about cutting him to save some money.
