Stoke-on-Trent: The owners of one of the oldest homes in the area are in a bit of a pickle. They’ve been told to get bailiffs to clear out an illegal camp that’s popped up on their property.

This camp includes at least three caravans, a van, and a car. It’s all happening at Ford Green House, which has seen better days after some fire damage.

Since the land is privately owned, the owners have to take action themselves. A spokesperson from the city council mentioned they’re aware of the situation and are helping the owner figure things out.

They’ve advised the owner on how to get bailiffs involved. Plus, the Environmental Crime Team will help clean up any mess left behind.

Interestingly, this encampment comes after the council turned down plans to demolish the house. They also rejected a proposal to build three new homes on the site.

Ford Green House dates back to the early 1800s. Sadly, it’s become quite run-down due to vandalism and arson over the years.

While it’s not officially listed, the council sees it as a ‘non-designated heritage asset.’ So, it’s got some historical value, even if it’s in rough shape.
