‘Outstanding’ North London Montessori nursery with independent children praised by Ofsted

Enfield: A North London nursery is making waves with its unique approach to early education. Inspirations Montessori Nursery School has just been rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and it’s easy to see why.

The nursery focuses on the Montessori method, which is all about letting kids explore their interests. Instead of traditional teaching, they encourage hands-on learning for children aged two to four. This way, kids are better prepared for primary school.

An Ofsted inspector was really impressed, calling the teaching “inspirational.” Kids were fully engaged and working together to solve problems. The inspector noted that the curriculum is exciting and well-structured, sparking kids’ curiosity.

Staff at the nursery know exactly what they want the kids to learn. They tailor their teaching to meet each child’s needs, which helps them make great progress across the board.

From a young age, children are taught to be considerate and share. For instance, if a child wants a toy that someone else is using, they’ll grab a sand timer and let an adult know they want to play with it later. How cool is that?

Thanks to this approach, Ofsted highlighted that the kids develop impressive independence. They learn to take off their coats and boots, ask for help when needed, and even find their slippers to self-register.
