Ebbw Vale: A group from Specsavers is gearing up to hike Pen Y Fan. They’re doing it to support a charity that helps people with sight loss.
The team plans to tackle the four-mile round trip on Sunday, January 19. They aim to raise £500 for Sight Cymru, which is a fantastic cause.
Rhian Price, the lead optometrist, is organizing the event. The climb will take them up over 400 meters, and they hope to finish in about three and a half hours.
Most of the team has volunteered their time for this challenge. They’ve even set up a Just Giving page to help with fundraising.
Daniel Smith, the optometric director, shared how proud they are to support Sight Cymru. He mentioned that the charity does amazing work for those facing daily challenges due to sight loss.
He added that helping people with sight loss is something that really matters to their team and their patients. It’s all about giving back to the community.
Pen Y Fan is a tough climb, but they’re excited about it. They hope this will be the first of many fundraising events they do.
Every step they take on Sunday is for a great cause, helping Sight Cymru continue its vital work. The charity is the largest of its kind in Wales, providing essential support to those at risk of sight loss.
