Cyclist Killed After Car Strikes Group in Armidale
A tragic accident in Armidale leaves one cyclist dead and others injured after a car struck them on Saturday afternoon

Armidale: It was a sad day when a cyclist lost his life after a car hit a group of riders on Saturday afternoon. The accident happened around 3:30 PM on Long Swamp Rd.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly, the male cyclist was pronounced dead right there. Three others were hurt, and their conditions are still unclear.
The driver, a woman in her 40s, crashed into a tree and got stuck for a bit until help arrived. Police have set up a crime scene and are looking into what happened.
They’re asking anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to reach out to them. It’s a tough situation, and they want to get to the bottom of it.
Both the driver and one cyclist were flown to John Hunter Hospital, while two others went to Armidale hospital by road. The driver is in critical condition, which adds to the worry.
