Clevedon: Liam Payne has been honored with a lovely tribute. The former One Direction star sadly passed away at just 31 years old in October 2024 after a tragic fall from a hotel.
It was confirmed that Liam died instantly from his injuries, which were quite severe. But now, just a few months later, Clevedon Pier has unveiled a special plaque in his memory.
What makes this tribute even more special is that Liam and his One Direction buddies filmed part of their music video for “You and I” right there on the pier back in 2014. Clevedon Pier shared a photo of the plaque on X, previously known as Twitter, along with some memories from that day.
The plaque reads: “Remembering Liam Payne – One Direction. 29.08.1993 – 16.10.2024.” It also includes a beautiful lyric from one of his favorite songs, “If you’re lost just look for me, you’ll find me in the region of the summer stars.”
Clevedon Pier expressed their joy in sharing this tribute, saying it’s inscribed with lyrics from a song that meant a lot to Liam. The post quickly gained over 2,000 likes, showing just how much fans appreciated this gesture.
Fans flooded the comments with love, with one saying, “Beautiful!” and another sharing, “You made me cry, but this is such a good gesture.” It’s clear that this tribute really touched many hearts.
However, not everything has been smooth sailing. Some fans are upset over a defamation lawsuit involving Liam’s father, Geoff Payne, and a close friend, Roger Nores. This legal battle has stirred up a lot of emotions among fans.
Five people have been charged in connection with Liam’s death, including Mr. Nores, who is accused of manslaughter. The lawsuit claims that Liam’s father made false statements during the investigation, which has left many fans shocked and angry.
