Columbus: So, after that intense Ohio State vs. Michigan game, things got wild. The Ohio State University Police said three officers had to use pepper spray during a brawl at Ohio Stadium. This all went down after the Buckeyes lost to the Wolverines on November 30.

The fight kicked off when Michigan players tried to plant a flag on the field after their win. Meanwhile, Ohio State’s players and coaches were gathered for their post-game tradition of singing “Carmen Ohio.” Talk about a clash!

According to OSU spokesman Dan Hedman, officers from the University of Michigan Police, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and OSU Police all got involved. Each department had one officer using pepper spray to try and control the situation.

Now, the use of pepper spray is being reviewed, as is standard procedure whenever force is used. Hedman mentioned that OSU police can use it if it’s necessary to protect themselves or others. One officer did get hurt and had to go to the hospital but was released afterward.

No charges have been filed yet, and the Big Ten has fined both teams $100,000 for the incident. That’s a hefty price for a post-game scuffle!

Ohio State also shared some body camera footage from the brawl. It shows officers trying to pull players apart and forming a line to keep the teams separated. You can see players walking away with their eyes stinging from the spray.

In the footage, one officer is heard saying, “I don’t know who the (expletive) sprayed mace,” as they tried to regain control. Tensions were still high, with players arguing about why they should leave the field after their victory.

There’s even more drama, as some officers had to threaten players with Tasers to get things under control. It was a chaotic scene, with officers trying to manage the crowd and keep everyone safe.

In the end, no arrests were made, but it’s clear that this brawl left a mark on both teams and their fans. What a wild way to end a game!
