London: O2 is making some big changes. They’ve decided to scrap their pay-as-you-go data-only mobile SIM services. This will hit a lot of customers who rely on it.
The service will officially end on January 31, right after the holiday season. So, if you’ve got any data left, you better use it up before then.
If you find yourself with unused data after the cutoff, don’t worry too much. You can still get a refund by reaching out to O2 customer service at 0344 8090222.
O2 has already sent out emails to affected customers, letting them know about the changes. They mentioned that the mobile broadband and iPad services will be gone for good after January 31, 2025.
According to an O2 spokesperson, these services haven’t been available for new customers since August. They’ve reached out to those who will be impacted, offering support if needed.
But don’t fret! O2 still has plenty of great-value pay monthly SIM options for tablets and mobile broadband.
For those who used the service, it was a decent deal. You could get 1GB for just £3, but it had to be used within 24 hours. Or, for £10, you could grab 2GB for 90 days. The longer-term plans, like £30 for 12GB, are now facing a tough end.
