New York: So, guess what? A federal judge just gave the green light for NYC’s congestion pricing plan to kick off this Sunday. This is a big deal, especially since New Jersey was trying to block it.

The judge, Leo Gordon, turned down New Jersey’s request to pause the plan while they wait for more info from the Federal Highway Administration. They wanted to know how this would affect traffic and pollution back in Jersey.

This ruling comes after a pretty intense hearing in Newark. It’s a showdown between New York and New Jersey, with a lot of money at stake for improving NYC’s old transit system. The judge did say that the feds need to provide more details by January 17, and there are more court dates lined up for February.

Of course, not everyone is on board with this plan. Some environmental groups and even President-elect Donald Trump are against it. New Jersey is worried that drivers will just find other routes to avoid the tolls, which could make congestion and pollution worse.
