Nursery closed as ‘serious crash’ closes Liverpool Road

Huyton: A serious crash on Liverpool Road has caused quite a stir today. The police were called early in the morning after a collision involving a Mazda and a female pedestrian. Sadly, the pedestrian is in the hospital with serious injuries.

Because of this, Unity Childcare and Pre-school announced they would be closed today, and possibly tomorrow, since the police have blocked access to the road. They shared this news on social media, apologizing for the disruption and promising to keep everyone updated.

On the bright side, Alt Bridge School nearby is still open, so at least some kids can continue their day as usual. The police have set up road closures from Blue Bell Lane to the M57, and they’re asking everyone to steer clear of the area while they investigate.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson is urging anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. The road will be closed for a while as they gather information, so if you’re driving around, it’s best to find another route. Thanks for your patience, everyone!
