Oldham: So, there was this really scary incident at Royal Oldham Hospital. A nurse, who’s in her 50s, got stabbed in the A&E department. Can you believe it?
It all went down late Saturday night. Police got the call around 11:30 PM about a stabbing. They rushed over to Rochdale Road to check it out.
From what they’re saying, a member of the public attacked her with something sharp, but it wasn’t a knife. That’s pretty wild, right?
Sadly, the nurse has serious injuries that could change her life. She’s still in the hospital getting treatment, and it’s really concerning.
They arrested a 37-year-old guy at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He’s still in custody, but thankfully, the police don’t think there’s any ongoing threat to the public.
Detective Sergeant Craig Roters mentioned that this is a serious situation and that they’re thinking of the nurse’s family and coworkers. They’re also stepping up police presence in the area to keep everyone feeling safe.
