Adeel Khan faces charges for aiding Daniel Khalife’s escape from prison, adding to the ongoing investigation into the incident
Waltham Forest, Daniel Khalife, Adeel Khan, HMP Wandsworth, Official Secrets Act, Iran
London: So, it turns out a second guy, Adeel Khan, has been charged for helping Daniel Khalife escape from prison. Khan, who’s 30 and from Waltham Forest, allegedly gave Khalife a hand after he broke out of HMP Wandsworth back in September.
He’s also in trouble for having a phone in prison, which is a big no-no. Khan got charged through the mail earlier this month and is set to show up at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
And get this, another guy named Imran Chowdhury, who’s 25 and from Chingford, is also facing charges for the same thing. He was in court on January 7 and pleaded not guilty. He’s out on bail for now but has to go back to Snaresbrook Crown Court in February.
As for Khalife, he’s a 23-year-old ex-soldier who got into serious trouble for allegedly leaking personal info about British soldiers to contacts in Iran. He was arrested for breaching the Official Secrets Act and was in Wandsworth when he made his escape on September 6, 2023.
His escape sparked a huge manhunt, but he was caught again after three days. In November, he was found guilty of spying for Iran. Quite the story, right?
