Northumberland: So, there’s been a bit of a mess on the A192. A burst water main caused some serious flooding, and now the road is closed in both directions. Northumbrian Water is on it, but it’s going to take a bit of time to sort out.

This all kicked off just before 1 PM today. Northumbria Police jumped in to close the road and told drivers to find another way. The flooding happened near the Keel Row pub, right between Blyth and Seaton Delaval.

Good news, though! Northumbrian Water said that the water supply for folks in the area isn’t affected. They’re working hard to fix the burst and get the road back open.

A spokesperson from Northumbrian Water mentioned they’re on-site dealing with the issue. They’re trying to isolate and repair the burst as quickly as they can. The A192 will stay closed until the water is cleared and repairs are done safely.

Police are also keeping an eye on things and have warned drivers to steer clear of the area. They confirmed they were alerted to the burst pipe just before 1 PM and are helping the engineers at the scene.

So, if you’re in the area, it’s best to find a different route for now. Stay safe out there!
