Newbiggin: A mental health charity in Northumberland just donated a defibrillator to a local boxing club. This life-saving device will help in case of sudden cardiac arrest.

The charity, Brighter Storey For All, raised funds with help from the Red Sky Foundation. Now, Newbiggin Boxing Club is better prepared for emergencies.

Brighter Storey For All was started by Nick and Francesca Storey. They created it in memory of their fathers, who faced mental health challenges.

Nick’s father, John Storey, died by suicide in 2013. Francesca’s father, John Rendall, battled bipolar disorder and cancer before passing away in 2023.

The charity aims to support those with mental health issues and promote community connections. They offer activities to help improve mental wellbeing.

Nick Storey shared that this donation reflects their mission to unite people and make a difference. He thanked everyone involved for their generosity.

Newbiggin Boxing Club is thrilled with the donation. A spokesperson expressed gratitude to both charities for their support.

They feel reassured knowing they have a defibrillator on-site for emergencies. It’s a crucial addition to their facilities.
