Northern Trains Set to Recruit Engineering Apprentices Across the North
Northern trains will recruit engineering apprentices at five locations, starting soon
Northern Trains, Engineering Apprentices, Merseyside, North East, East Riding of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Manchester
This news comes just before National Apprenticeship Week, starting February 10.
The apprenticeship lasts three years. Candidates will earn over £19,000 a year while studying for a Level 3 qualification in rail engineering.
You can apply at Northern’s depots in Allerton, Heaton, Hull, Neville Hill, and Newton Heath.
Applications close on Sunday, February 23.
Tricia Williams, managing director of Northern, highlighted the importance of National Apprenticeship Week. She said it’s a great chance to show career paths for those wanting to earn while they learn.
Current apprentices Megan Van Bergen and Harry Hager shared their experiences. Megan, who worked in train presentation, praised the friendly and supportive environment.
Harry, the first engineering apprentice at Hull Botanic Gardens, mentioned the hard work but also the great start to his engineering career.
Northern also offers ‘Year in Industry’ placements for university students in various teams like commercial, finance, and HR.
