Leyburn: Exciting news for caravan lovers! The site at Brookfields Farm is set to replace its previous operation under the Caravan and Motor Home Club exemption.

It’s already got spots for seven caravans, so it’s ready to roll. Mr. and Mrs. Stirk put in the application, with Maria Ferguson helping out as the agent.

The council gave the green light for changing the land use, which is great for local tourism. They’re all about sustainable development, and this plan fits right in with that.

Plus, the site isn’t in a flood-risk area, and they’ve got a soakaway system to handle surface water. Sounds like they’ve thought this through!

They’re also making sure waste management is on point, with areas for recycling. The application promises no impact on access for pedestrians or vehicles, which is a relief.

The council has set some conditions to keep the rural vibe intact. They want to limit the number of caravans to seven and ensure no permanent residency.

They’ll also monitor the site to make sure everything’s running smoothly, with guest logs to keep track of visitors.

Some locals, like Stuart Crawford, are cautiously optimistic. He’s all for the development but wants to make sure the rules are followed to avoid traffic and noise issues.

He even suggested planting some hedges or trees to keep the area looking nice and rural. Good idea, right?

Lastly, the Local Highway Authority mentioned that any work affecting public paths will need special permission, so they’re keeping things in check.
