Wrexham is eyeing several players as they prepare for the January transfer window

Wrexham: The team is gearing up for the January transfer window, and it looks like they might make some moves soon. They’re currently sitting pretty in third place in League One, which is a solid spot as they head into the second half of the season.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the club’s owners, are all in on supporting manager Phil Parkinson. They want to keep the momentum going for a third straight promotion. One area they’re looking to boost is their attack, especially since Paul Mullin hasn’t been scoring much lately. He had back surgery over the summer, so bringing in another striker could really help.
Wrexham usually waits until the end of the transfer window to make their moves, so it wouldn’t be shocking if they do the same this time around. Parkinson is okay with taking his time to find the right players.
Even though they haven’t made any signings yet, there are a bunch of players linked to Wrexham this month. Let’s check out some of the names that could be showing up at the Racecourse soon.
Patrick Bamford
First up is Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford. He’s a big name, but he’s had a rough season so far, not starting any games and struggling to find the net. He recently picked up a hamstring injury, which might make a transfer less likely.
Michael Smith
Then there’s Michael Smith from Sheffield Wednesday. Wrexham tried to get him in the summer, but the Owls decided to keep him. He’s scored five goals this season, and with his contract ending soon, he might be a target again.
Joe Gelhardt
Another player on their radar is Joe Gelhardt, also from Leeds. He’s got potential but looks set to join Hull City instead.
Cauley Woodrow
Wrexham might also be looking at Cauley Woodrow from Luton Town. He hasn’t played much this season, and a move to Wrexham could be on the cards.
Jayden Danns
Then there’s Jayden Danns from Liverpool. He’s a young talent who just scored in an FA Cup match. Wrexham would prefer a loan deal, but there are other teams interested too.
Harry Cornick
Bristol City’s Harry Cornick could be another option. His manager has said he can explore his options, and Wrexham is reportedly keen.
Dylan Levitt
Midfielder Dylan Levitt from Hibernian has also been mentioned. He’s not been a regular starter but showed promise in a recent match.
Ryan Hardie
Wrexham might have to spend big for Plymouth Argyle’s Ryan Hardie, who has a £2 million price tag. He’s been a key player for Plymouth, scoring a lot since joining.
Ethan Wheatley
Lastly, there’s Ethan Wheatley from Manchester United. Wrexham and Stockport County are both interested in him, but Stockport might have the edge since he’s from there.
