Glasgow: A 24-year-old man from Northern Ireland has died during a half marathon. His name is Aaron Johnston, and he was from Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh. The incident happened at Glasgow Green on February 2.

Aaron was participating in the Half Marathon Winter Warmer Run when he fell ill. Emergency services arrived quickly around 11:15 am. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Sadly, he died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Authorities say there are no suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Aaron’s family business, Ashwood Garden Centre, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media. They expressed their heartbreak over losing Aaron, who was a beloved son and brother.

The garden center and coffee shop will remain closed until further notice. Police Scotland confirmed the details of the incident and the response from emergency services.
