Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Brock Purdy, NFL, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers
Philadelphia: Jalen Hurts might not play in the Eagles’ last game against the Giants. Coach Nick Sirianni hinted at resting some players since they’ve already secured the NFC’s No. 2 seed.
Hurts hasn’t practiced since his concussion in Week 16, raising concerns about his availability for the playoffs. Sirianni is taking it day by day, focusing on what the doctors say.
For the Giants game, Tanner McKee is expected to start as Kenny Pickett is dealing with a rib injury.
Meanwhile, in Miami, Tua Tagovailoa is likely out for the Dolphins’ crucial game against the Jets due to a hip injury. Coach Mike McDaniel said it’s unlikely Tua will play, which is a bummer for the team’s playoff chances.
Tyler Huntley is set to take the lead for the Dolphins. They need a win against the Jets and some help from the Broncos to clinch a playoff spot.
Over in San Francisco, Brock Purdy is out for the 49ers’ finale against the Cardinals due to a right elbow issue. Joshua Dobbs will step in for him.
Coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that Purdy’s injury shouldn’t have long-term effects, but now the team has to decide on his contract situation moving forward.
As the playoffs approach, injuries are definitely shaking things up for these teams. It’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out!
