Injuries shake up NFL Week 18 as key players like Hurts, Tua, and Purdy are sidelined, impacting playoff hopes for their teams

Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Brock Purdy, NFL, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers
Philadelphia: So, it looks like Jalen Hurts won’t be playing in the Eagles’ last game against the Giants. Coach Nick Sirianni hinted that he’d rest some players since they’ve already secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC. But now, with Hurts out due to a concussion, there’s some worry about whether he’ll be ready for the playoffs.
Coach Sirianni said they’re taking it day by day, which is probably the best approach. Tanner McKee is likely to start in his place, and Kenny Pickett is also dealing with a rib injury, making things a bit tricky for the Eagles.
Over in Miami, Tua Tagovailoa is doubtful for the Dolphins’ game against the Jets. He missed last week with a hip injury, and Coach Mike McDaniel doesn’t think he’ll be back this week either. The Dolphins need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, so it’s a tough spot for them.
Meanwhile, Brock Purdy is out for the 49ers’ finale against the Cardinals due to an elbow issue. Joshua Dobbs will take over for him. The 49ers are hoping this isn’t a long-term problem for Purdy, but it raises questions about his future with the team.
And let’s not forget about Tampa Bay’s Jordan Whitehead, who’s on the NFI list after a car accident. He’ll miss the game against the Saints, which is a bummer for the Bucs.
Injuries are just part of the game, but they sure make things interesting as we head into the playoffs. Let’s see how these teams adapt!
