Chicago: So, here’s the scoop. Last weekend, Brock Purdy had a bit of a scare when he got hit during the game. The NFL isn’t letting that slide, though. They’ve slapped Bears edge rusher Darrell Taylor with a fine of $16,883 for that hit.

It all went down in the third quarter of the 49ers’ big win over the Bears. Taylor made contact with Purdy’s neck after he had already thrown the ball. Not cool, right?

Luckily, Purdy only missed one play before he was back on the field, throwing for 325 yards and two touchdowns. He really showed the Bears’ defense what he’s made of!

Now, a little background on Taylor. He was drafted by the Seahawks back in 2020 and played there for four seasons. He just joined the Bears this offseason on a one-year deal worth $3.1 million.

The NFL is serious about protecting its quarterbacks, and this fine sends a clear message. They want to keep the game safe for everyone involved.
