Sydney: Big news for travelers! Virgin Australia is teaming up with Qatar Airways, and starting Thursday, you can book flights to over 100 international spots. This is a major boost for Australians looking to travel abroad.

After being out of the international game for a while, Virgin is back in action. This partnership is set to shake things up, especially for flights to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Virgin hasn’t flown internationally since 2020, but now they’re ready to take bookings for direct flights from Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth to Doha, starting in June next year. Melbourne will follow in 2025.

Jayne Hrdlicka, Virgin’s CEO, calls this partnership a game changer. It’s all about giving Australians more options and better prices for international travel.

With Qatar’s Boeing 777s, known for their comfy Qsuite business class, travelers can expect top-notch service. This partnership is a big step for Virgin, helping them compete better in the domestic market too.

Qatar is looking to take a 25% stake in Virgin and has proposed a five-year lease agreement. While they still need final approvals, the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission has given a thumbs-up for bookings to start.

For those booking now, there are protections in place for refunds or alternative flights if things don’t go as planned. Plus, there are some great launch fares available for those June flights!

So, if you’re dreaming of a trip to Paris, London, or Rome, now’s the time to check out those special fares!
