Newcastle, UK, 10k, Run Through UK, Road Closures

Newcastle: The Newcastle Quayside 10k is happening this Saturday, and there will be some road closures to keep in mind.

Run Through UK is organizing the event, and it’s going to be a great run with the beautiful Quayside as the backdrop.

Runners will get to enjoy the sights, passing iconic spots like the Swing Bridge and the High Level Bridge, before heading back the same way.

There are two races: the A race for those aiming to finish in under 40 minutes starts at 9am, while the B race kicks off at 9:20am for those taking a bit longer.

If you’re planning to attend, there’s no designated parking, so it’s best to use public car parks on either side of the river. If you’re using public transport, hop off at Newcastle Central Station or Gateshead Interchange.

Just a heads up, there’s a 90-minute cut-off time because of the road closures, so make sure to arrive early. Your entry includes timed results, a unique medal, free event photos, and a goodie bag!

Here are the road closures for Saturday, January 18:

  • Quayside Road: 6am-11am
  • Lombard Street: 6am-11am
  • Queen Street: 6am–11am
  • Swing Bridge: 8am-11am
  • Sandhill Close: 8am-11am
  • Skinnerburn Road: 8am-11am
