Newcastle: A city centre ranger had a pretty wild day when he got bitten by a drug addict. This all started when the ranger checked on a guy named Callum Goodwin, who was slumped on the path.
So, the ranger tried to wake him up, but Goodwin didn’t respond at first. When he finally stood up, he noticed his burger was all over the ground and freaked out, blaming the ranger for it. Things escalated quickly, and before you know it, Goodwin bit the ranger’s arm!
It was a chaotic scene. Goodwin was shouting and even tried to spit on the ranger. When the ranger tried to calm him down, Goodwin just got angrier. He ended up throwing the ranger’s camera across the street and then bit him during a struggle.
The ranger was left with a nasty bruise and bite mark. He expressed how upset he was about the whole situation, especially since he does a lot for the community. The judge didn’t take it lightly either and sentenced Goodwin to 16 months in jail.
But that wasn’t the end of it. While out on bail, Goodwin got into more trouble in Jesmond, where he pushed someone and started throwing stuff around, injuring a couple of people. It’s clear he’s got some serious issues to deal with.
Goodwin, who’s 31 and has a long history of convictions, admitted to the assault and affray. His lawyer mentioned that he really doesn’t want to keep living this way. It’s a tough situation all around.
